Dogon spiral ring | Size 45

Ancient cast bronze ring, decorated on the front with two finely engraved spirals. Circular and spiral engravings are typical of various West African productions and can have symbolic and decorative value. In Dogon culture (Mali), geometric motifs such as spirals and concentric shapes are often linked to concepts of cycle, continuity and cosmic order, and may also refer to elements of protection and group identity, without necessarily having a single meaning.

The front part of the ring measures 39 x 19 millimetres, while the internal diameter is 14 mm.

This ring is antique and authentic, not a modern replica.
