Antique Caucasian Silver Belt Buckle with Niello and Enamel

Large antique Caucasian silver belt buckle, finely decorated with rich niello work extending across the entire surface. Around the central motif and along the side borders are ancient traces of enamel in dark red, green, and yellow tones, further enhancing the decorative impact of the piece.

This specific type of men’s buckle represents a traditional ornament from the Caucasian region.

On the reverse of the front section, an inscription in Arabic script is visible, presumably attributable to the signature of the silversmith.
