Indian Shiva Lingam Silver Necklace

Antique Indian pendant-container in solid silver. This traditional pendant was intended to house a Shiva Lingam, which in this case is still preserved inside. The Lingam, a central element of devotion to Shiva, is here preserved in its original silver casing, which provided protection and allowed it to be carried as a personal object of devotion.
The necklace measures 14.37 in in closed length, while the pendant measures 1.26 X 1.57 in.
