Double-Strand Millefiori Necklace

Necklace composed of two strands of antique Venetian millefiori glass beads, made for the African market. Millefiori beads are a distinctive Venetian glassmaking tradition, created by fusing multicoloured glass canes to produce characteristic floral and mosaic-like patterns. Widely traded internationally, they became particularly popular in Africa, where they were incorporated into jewellery and exchanged as valued trade goods.

The beads measure from 0.39 to 0.67 in (1 to 1.7 cm) in length.
