Necklace composed of two strands of antique Venetian millefiori glass beads, made for the African market. Millefiori beads are a distinctive Venetian glassmaking tradition, created by fusing multicoloured glass canes to produce characteristic floral and mosaic-like patterns. Widely traded internationally, they became particularly popular in Africa, where they were incorporated into jewellery and exchanged as valued trade goods. <\/p>\n

The beads measure from 0.39 to 0.67 in (1 to 1.7 cm) in length. <\/p>\n
